 Nana Yarbrough's cable show 'Ancestor House' is a community based outreach and serves as an outlet for the telling of our stories.  It is a spiritual space where we give thanks to our Creator and respect to our Ancestors.  Invited Guests for the month of February are:

Thysha M. Shabazz, President & Founder of Shabazz Communications and Monique Ndigo Washington, Activist and  Spoken Word Artist will discuss the impact that negative images have on young girls, it's causes and strategies to combat them.

March 8, 2008
Christie Love, Staff Attorney and Monique Ndigo Washington, Outreach Coordinator both from Advocates for Children, will discuss the Out of School Youth Project and highlight ways that students are being "pushed out of school." They will highlight the fact that students have the right to stay in school until they reach the age of 21 and encourage parents to challenge school officials that tell them their child must leave school because they have few credits, are pregnant or are English Language Learners. Educator Felicia M. Bell, Founder of the 21st Century P.R.E.T.T.Y Girls discussed the need for more Rites of Passage Programs in schools and throughout our communities. She was joined by members of her group, who include Regina Mills, Shawntol Hughes, Shalyn Brown, Brittney L'elie and Alakia Jennett. These young sistahs talked about ways they plan to contribute to their communities after completing their education.

Nana Camille Yarbrough offered a monologue on the African American community has been scarred during enslavement and how the brutality inflicted by our Enslavers affects our behavior and how can dictate how we relate to each other.

Tentative Guest. Ron Daniels, Founder of the Institute of the Black World 21st Century has been invited to discuss their upcoming event. A tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King and Toussaint L'ourverture. This event will be held on Sunday, April 6th at York College. The program begins at 5:30pm.  Featured Artists include Nana Camille Yarbrough, Erna LeTemps and the Voices of Haiti, the York College Gospel Choir and Louis Reyes Rivera. "Children's Books
Nana Camille Yarbrough has been invited to participate in an Authors' Forum on Friday, June 6, 2008. This event will take place at the Ludlum School, located in Foral Park. She will have an opportunity to dialogue with students, discuss the characters in her books and encourage our youth to read and challenge them to emulate the values of the characters from her books.


LIBATION OFFERINGS
Nana Camille Yarbrough was invited to offer libations at The City-wide Rally Against Gentrification and Displacement. This event was held on Saturday, February 23rd by the Coalition to Save Harlem from 3:30pm - 7:00pm. For more information on upcoming meetings, you can call 212.866.1600.

 Nana Camille Yarbrough served as Guest Host for Imhotep Gary Byrd's Show, "The Global Black Experience", WBAI - 99.5 FM. This show aired Wednesday, March 12, 2008.  Some of her Guests included: Attorney Michael Hardy discussing the Sean Bell Trial and Milton Allimadi, Publisher & Editor-in-Chief for the Black Star News. Mr. Allimadi provided an indepth overview of the Presidential Election and the Democratic and Republican Candidates.
